Shifting Shores
“Shifting Shores” titled inspired by the book “Shifting shores: Rising Seas, Retreating Coastlines” By Jeff Hecht examines the rapidly eroding coastline of East Anglia through detailed, front-facing portraits of cliff surfaces. Captured on a medium-format digital camera, the work discloses fragile textures, colours, and geological layers that define one of Europe's fastest-changing coastlines. Each image isolates the cliff face from the wider landscape, making collapsing sand, clays, and chalk into striking visual forms that sit between documentation and abstraction.
The project reflects both the environmental urgency of coastal erosion and personal connection to the region in an intimate visual record of a landscape shaped by time, weather, and rising seas. Together, these photographs invite viewers to look closely at the quiet sculptural beauty of a coastline that is continually falling away”
